Doodles Abroad

As I was on vacation I had very little time to sit down and create elaborate pieces so instead I pulled out the Wacom and did some doodling. I was in an experimental mood and decided to try drawing some cartoon styled stuff.

Usually, my cartoons become very realistic very quickly so I did my best to try different styles avoiding that outcome. I enjoyed drawing in a more minimalist style the most; using bold strokes and few splashes of color to accent the drawings.

In the end my absolute favorites were the three colored animals the fat cat and mouse.

The cat was actually the very first thing I drew. I had no reference/inspiration art in mind when I started so the style was completely new to me. I felt as though it was a successful attempt and felt even more encouraged to continue drawing these little cartoon animals.
